University Partnerships
Since 2000 Skills Solutions has been working in partnership with the University of Bolton, aiding and supporting young people who seek an alternative to full-time education. The Professional Apprenticeship in Management allows young learners to obtain paid employment whilst working towards a Foundation Degree in Management.
More recently Skills Solutions have expanded their higher education portfolio to include provision for adult learners who have the opportunity to study for a part time Foundation Degree in the evening, in subjects including Management and Early Years.These courses are delivered in well resourced and comfortable training rooms using interactive teaching methods and allowing participants to incorporate assessments which are relevant to their own work place.
A new Foundation Degree in Hairdressing and Salon Management, in partnership with the University of Derby, offers the opportunity for hairdressers and salon managers to study every Monday, when salons are usually closed.This is an intensive programme, incorporating creative and management modules which allows hairdressers to both improve their management skills and achieve creative inspiration.
Since July 2007 the financial services team at Skills Solutions has been working in partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) to develop and promote the first part time BA Honours Degree in Financial Services for employees who want to top up their personal and professional qualifications to degree level.
The degree content has been derived from the full time BA Honours Degree that MMU already offer and has been tailored to meet the needs of those individuals who are working in the sector and want the facility of a more flexible study approach on a part time basis.
