A1 Assessor Award
Who should do this course?
The A1 Assessor Award is a level 3 qualification and is required for those who wish to assess the competence of learners working towards a vocational qualification (NVQ). Assessor candidates must be occupationally competent within the vocational area they wish to assess, for example, someone assessing an NVQ level 2 in Customer Service must have at least two years experience in the role within the last five years. Requirements vary and guidance should be sought from the appropriate awarding body or sector skills council.
What will I do on this course?
To gain the full Assessor's Award, candidates must achieve all elements within the unit:
The elements are as follows:
- Develop plans for assessing competence
- Judge evidence against criteria to make assessment decisions
- Provide feedback and support to candidates on assessment decisions

Contribute to the internal quality assurance process

Assessment will take place in your work environment and/or that of your candidates.
What opportunities are available once I finish the course?
Qualify to assess NVW Learners or progress to I.V (Internal Verifier)
