Learning and Development NVQ Level 4

Who should do this course?

The Learning & Development NVQ level 4 (L&D4) is suitable for those whose work role encompasses the full training and learning cycle. It is for trainers who are responsible for the identification of learning needs, negotiating and reviewing the learning process with learners, lesson planning and evaluation, programme design and delivery and using a range of training and learning techniques. The trainer's own personal development and action planning is key to this qualification.

What will I do on this course?

You will complete mandatory units listed below, plus optional units.

  • Contribute to the development of learning within the organisation
  • Evaluate and develop own practice
  • Identify individual learning aims and programmes
  • Design learning programmes
  • Agree learning programmes with learners
  • Manage the contribution of other people to the learning process
  • Create a climate that promotes learning
  • Evaluate and improve learning and development programmes

In addition you will need to demonstrate how you select, monitor and review other people's contributions to these programmes as well as show how you measure, analyse and evaluate learning programmes.

All assessment takes place in your working environment where a Skills Solutions assessor will visit you.

What opportunities are available once I finish the course?

Progression to Foundation Degree Level or Teacher Training
