Engineering Apprenticeships
What sort of work is involved?
The engineering industry is vast and varied; the type of work will depend on the engineering pathway chosen this may be mechanical, fabrication and welding, electrical or electronic. It may be working on the production of single items or products, or alternatively servicing and repairing production machinery in many industries.
What training is involved?
NVQ level 2 and 3, with Key Skills, all supported by a underpinning knowledge qualification such as a City and Guilds or BTEC national certificate.
Manufacturing Apprenticeships
What sort of work is involved?
Manufacturing covers a wide range of industries making such products as Printed Circuit Boards for the Electronics and Telecoms industry, Furniture Manufacture, Chemical Processing and Heavy Goods Vehicle Trailer building, to name just a few.
What training is involved?
Six NVQ units covering Organising and Controlling Manufacturing Operations and key skills in Application of Number, Communication, IT and Working with Others. All training and assessment is conducted in the workplace. Day release to college is not required for this qualification
