Business Administrator Apprenticeship

Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector.

Business administrators provide and improve administrative services, working independently or as part of a team. They support different areas of the organisation, interact with internal and external customers and help drive efficiency.


The role requires strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills, along with a proactive attitude. Administrators manage priorities, show initiative and may mentor others as they progress toward management responsibilities.

What does the course cover?

This is a work-based learning programme which is supported by:

  • Virtual one-to-one tutorials 
  • Completion of written narratives
  • Industry and teaching/coaching experts 
  • Continuous reflective professional discussions 
  • Tutor-led online group workshops 
What will I achieve?

On successful completion you will achieve Business Administrator level 3 Apprenticeship

What are the entry requirements?

You must be employed in a business support role.

Ideally, you should have a GCSE grade 4/C or above or equivalent in English and maths. 

Functional Skills is no longer a mandated requirement for apprentices aged 19 or above. However, some programmes may have minimum entry level requirements for English and maths due to the nature of the programme. Apprentices who wish to opt out of Functional Skills must have approval from their employer.

How much does the course cost?
